While you’re transitioning your wardrobe for colder weather, it’s also the perfect time to start cleaning out your makeup bag and making room for a few a new beauty routine. Put aside your summer bronzers and coral lipstick, and get ready for new hues, skincare, and lush indulgences.

The beginning of colder weather can bring about a lot of changes for your skin. It’s important to start a great skincare routine now so your face stays fresh all season. Dryness is a common skin issue during this time, so it’s important to start off your beauty routine well. Before applying your makeup everyday, wash your face well and apply a small amount of moisturizer. If you like to treat yourself, get a night cream and hydrating facial mask.

Here’s a little stylist secret to keep your skin glowing this Fall! Use a highlighter or illuminator to make your skin look radiant. Apply right above your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, and right at the side of your temples. This will create a perfect bounce of light without making the rest of your face look shiny. Try an illuminating drop or powder.

Our favorite Fall beauty trend at the studio is a berry red lip! There is something so polished and classic about wearing red lipstick. It instantly makes anything look put together. If you are a lipstick newbie, try a cherry red shade or a light tinted lip balm. If you absolutely love lipstick, try broadening your range of colors to a berry or dark crimson. Some of our favorites are by NARS, MAC, and NYX Butter Gloss. When you wear red lipstick, keep the rest of your makeup simple and clean. It’s a bold statement of color, so you want to avoid going overboard on eye makeup.

The last statement to make this Fall with your beauty routine is a bold eyebrow. Bold brows frame your face and make a statement with even the most natural makeup. If you are hesitant about bold eyebrows, start small and experiment with different looks. Filling in your brows will make them look fuller, but also keep them uniform and shapely. As a general rule of thumb when shaping and filling in your brows, they should line up with both corners of your eyes. There are many different products on the market right now for eyebrows. If you have a great eyeshadow palette, start there! Eyeshadows can be perfect for filling in brows and will let you experiment to find a color that is a perfect match to your hair color. Just be sure to finish it off with a setting spray. If you love eyebrows, try a brow pencil!
