The world is at your finger tips…go. Run with it. But don’t strive. Allow life to evolve….just be you in the process. One step at a time…no need to rush. And yes, you are so beautiful. Just as you are.”

Here at Char co, we take great pride in our take on senior portraits. The process is something we have refined and carefully shaped over the past several years. Today’s process is a cumulation of our entire team’s investment. It is something we believe in deeply.  To us, senior portraits is so much more than shooting a pretty image. The soul of what we offer lies in the process and heart behind what we do.

We love that senior portraits can be a once in a lifetime experience. We aim to give our seniors a day where they are pampered, doted on a bit, and feel in love with life! Our desire is that they walk away feeling empowered, settled, and loved. Having several styled outfits, possibly a few hair and makeup tips learned along the way, and a stunning set of images are all added perks. With top notch attention to detail and a high standard of excellence, our team works together to make this day extra special for each of and every CHAR Co senior.

We recently photographed Elizabeth. Today I am going to tell you a bit about the process using Elizabeth’s photos as an example.

Our signature senior portrait session begins with a style consult in our studio with your personal stylist, Grace. Grace will ask questions and chat with you a bit so she can understand your personality and personal style. It is a lighthearted conversation on the studio couch over candy caramels. You are encouraged to bring pieces of clothing that you are considering for your photo session. Everything from accessories, location, props, and the photo shoot concept is discussed and defined. The concept is unique to each and every person. Following the style consult, an inspiration board custom to you is created, providing inspiration for the day. Here is Elizabeth’s custom inspiration board. The concept for Elizabeth’s portrait session was musical, free spirit, cultured, happy, a little preppy, sunflowers, books, and neutral tones.

On the big day, Grace and one of our preferred hair and makeup stylists meets you at the studio. Tunes are playing, the hair and makeup station is ready to go next to the huge studio windows, and the custom inspiration board will be pulled up. Coffee is offered, mother is made comfortable, our senior is all settled in and the fun begins. The stylist is directed by Grace to be sure everything is perfect and true to the predefined concept. While hair and makeup is taking place, Grace will look over your outfits and accessories and makes sure everything is prepared and ready to go.

Along with finalized outfits and a personal goodie bag complete with a few snacks, all involved will head out to the photo shoot location. The ground work has been laid for an amazing photo session and we are ready to go! The photo session is laid back and relaxed. My goal is simple…. images that reflect true smiles, eyes that sparkle, and honest to goodness personality. And of course, images that feel a bit editorial…just like a magazine.

After the photo shoot, Anna steps in and creates her magic on the computer screen. Her editing skills are top notch and she adds that touch of finesse that causes the images to shine!

Next is the Preview Session. Wahoo! Here is when the photos are viewed for the first time. Kathleen walks you through our collections including prints and products. She makes sure all questions are answered and assists you in finding the products that are perfect for you.

Packaging up the order is the finishing touch and something we love to do just right. Grace runs with this. Tissue paper, candy, hand tied bows, and love notes are all included. In the end, we view the package as a gift you that we cannot wait for you to open!
