A little something new and pretty will breath inspiration into a space. Here at the studio, we like to freshen up the studio each season making our space feel warm, festive, and current. Emily and Bethany created this simple and sweet wall decor for the studio. We plan to add in a few white pumpkins for an autumn touch.
Follow the directions below to make these yourself.
Ad added bonus? Creating with your hands is therapy for your mind. Our minds need to focus, plan, and experience!
MATERIALS NEEDED ::
1. Unroll and straighten 30” of copper rod. Copper is soft enough that you can bend it with your hands.
2. Using a sharpie, measure and mark at 5”, 15”, 25”, and 30” (To make all sides equal, we varied the proportions for all three).
2. Cut at 30” mark using wire cutter.
4. Bend at marked points to create a triangle.
5. Push the two ends together and seal with hot glue. This section will be concealed by the yarn.
6. Fold pieces of yarn in half and pull through loop (slip knot) over the bottom part of the triangle
7. Attach the copper couplings to the ends of the yarn by threading two pieces of yarn through and then tying a knot. Distribute the couplings evenly across the bottom edge of the wall hanging.
8. You will have enough materials left to make two more wall hangings. Experiment with making different sizes of isosceles triangles and using varied yarn lengths.
9. Hang on a blank wall to make any space look pretty and inviting!
