I have so many memories of Easter dresses. It was that first spring time outfit each year. My mother made my dress by hand and put so much time and thought into all the details. It started with a trip to the fabric store….from there is was a labor of love. The ribbon that tied around the waist, the buttons, little bits of lace, and maybe a ruffle around the bottom…coming together to fit her vision. Oooooh I felt so special on Easter morning getting all dressed up and wearing my stiff and a little scratchy new Easter dress. The tulips were blooming, the grass was turning green, the air still had a bite but the sun was warm…and I felt like such a little princess heading off to church and then too Grandma’s house for Easter dinner and the anticipated Easter egg hunt!

We laughed and chatted about this the other day in the studio and thought it would be so fun to take a trip down memory lane and see photos of childhood Easter dresses.
