THE ART OF HOSPITALITY WORKSHOP AND GIVEAWAY WINNER

First of all, JIN….wahoo….you are the randomly selected winner of Bristle & Prim’s $75 GIVEWAY!! You said you are not sure if you are brave enough to change your hair color….well, we think you should let Bristle & Prim do what they do so well and go for it! Congrats on winning!

As I mentioned here, hospitality is something our team believes in and is intentional about including in our day to day life and business. It is so much more than a good food and a nice table. As Taylor explained to us at the Art of Hospitality workshop, true hospitality meets our core longings as a person…to be loved, recognized, and appreciated. With that is mind, hospitality is powerful! I learned from Taylor and Leeann that true hospitality goes beyond a ‘nice’ meal. It actually leaves a person feeling ‘moved’. Oh, I love that! The night left me so inspired to even farther implement honest to goodness true hospitality into my life and business.

We can’t extend enough gratitude to Taylor and Leeann Mason of Ma(i)son for all the good content they shared with us at The Art of Hospitality workshop. And to everyone who attended, we are so thankful for your support and interest. Your presence made the night even better!

For those unable to join us, here are a few key points from the night that we hope challenge you as they have challenged us.
–Hospitality is the way you are made to feel. They paralleled this to how we feel when we are born…we receive eye contact, a smile, a hug, and some good food!
–Performance is a monologue; hospitality is a dialogue.
–Less is more. Don’t let pinterest complicate the way you set a table or the way you cook. Relax and if need be, take your kitchen table outside on your lawn.

We’d like to share with you a few thoughts from the friends that joined us…

Lori – hospitality is a simple, pure form of sharing your own feelings/grace/love with others. It’s simply a way to convey an emotion of our own inner being with others, being real & in the moment. I loved the quote Taylor shared about being born, loved, hugged, & fed within the first few minutes of life ~ great hospitality is the same context. It was very eye opening to realize we were created in God’s eye to do just this. Amazing.
Jamie – Along the lines of Taylor: It is what you do for them, not to them that makes the difference in hospitality. To take the time to show authentic care and service in all you do for your clients.
Mark –  I loved the recognition of hospitality being something that is done for you – not something that is done to you.
Kate – I love the thought that hosting is not just in appearance, but also in creating a feeling. If anything, I want people to remember the times they’ve spent with me and my husband as “home.”

Taylor and Leeann, THANK-YOU. You guys are awesome. Much love.
