OUR WEDDING WORKSHOP RECAP

Hey all! It is FRIDAY! Yay! Today I am sharing with you a wedding workshop we recently held at the studio. My favorite part about workshops is that is enables us to meet and connect with others FACE to FACE. Social media is great and all….and we use it, and meet many this way. However, nothing will ever replace a hug, warm handshake, and a face to face conversation. This is still my aaah, yes, place. I love this about what I do. At our wedding workshop we talked about coming up with a game plan for the big day, shooting the wedding details, capturing pretty getting ready photos, organizing and posing the family and bridal party photos quickly, bride and groom portraits, utilizing ALL types light, shooting for variety, simplifying the editing workflow, and establishing your style.

We as a team all worked together creating this day….that was my other most favorite part about workshops. :) Grace and Karen styled the wedding shoot. Kathleen managed ALL the behind the scene details. Andrea and I talked taught. Anna covered editing. Justine helped Kathleen and whomever needed a helping hand!

Let’s start with a few behind the scenes from the day. These were the take home gift for each of the attendees. Yep, they were created and hand made by our creative genius, GRACE.

Here is what a few attendees had to say about the day…

“Some highlights were the styled shoot, time for Q&A, the great information packet to take home, feeling validated and encouraged, defining your dream client and setting yourself up for success, and simply the ability to spend time with others who have a similar vision & passion- it was all so inspiring and refreshing. THANK YOU so much for the incredible amount of time and detail that was obviously put into the day!”

“Everything was very thought out & fun to participate in. The atmosphere, the food, you ladies :) all add to the quality of the workshop! So much fun to enjoy each other’s company & learning new things from those around you or working in a similar setting. A great day!”

“The folder of goodies and meeting other photographers was so fun. It was very well organized! I loved the styled shoot and watching your team photograph them and given the hands on tips. I learned so much and am so glad I came!”

Little sweets always are good…

Grace and Karen styled the day…and I loved, loved the results. Grace found the beautiful silverware at an antique store for a killer deal. The dress and accessories were from vintage stores. The furniture and miscellaneous other pieces are a mixture of Grace and Karen’s stash of goodness. Many of the items were handmade by Grace and Karen, including the cake, flowers pots with gold accents, the banners…and I am sure I am missing something.

Now for the styled shoot…

Lori from WILDFLOWERS By DESIGN proved the GORGEOUS flowers. Let me tell, she takes flowers to a whole new level. Brides, if you are looking for some amazing florals with just the right amount of style and free flowing natural…this is THE place to go.

Yep, Grace decorated this cake herself!

Jesse was our gorgeous bride…she fit the style just ever so perfect. Hair and makeup was provided by BELLA DA SALON.

The morning of the workshop we did not like the forecast. It was calling for strong thunderstorms RIGHT over the shoot time. Ugh. We finally decided that risking it and having rain ruin everything was not worth it. So last minute TULPEHOCKEN MANOR came to the rescue and allowed us to use their venue. I love this venue and it had lots of covered porches which was great because yes, it DUMPED for two hours right when the shoot was planned.

And Zach! Rocking the bow tie. These two handled with a grin and ease all us crazies with cameras.

And the classic group shot…I am not there…I was manning the camera.

If you are interested in attending future workshops, email info@charphotography.com and let us know and we will be sure to let you know when dates are first released.

Happy weekend ALL!!
