LET’S TALK ABOUT FALL COATS!

Autumn usually brings thoughts of colorful leaves, football games, hayrides, warm cider, and caramel apples, but what about fall jackets? Never underestimate the power of a good fall/winter coat. Some last for years and make an outfit go from “good” to “perfect”! Today we bring you some of our top picks for this season. From edgy to tomboy to classic, take a look at some of our team favorites. Some are steals and some are definitely splurges, but we hope to make your coat shopping a little easier.

CHAR’S SPLURGE :: What I love about this ALL SAINTS LEATHER COAT is that it comes in a matte dark gray. It looks black, but a little softer. I think the leather color, texture, and finish is so pretty. It is a splurge at $500. I am on the hunt to find something similar, but not with quite such a big price tag.

CHAR’S STEAL :: I recently splurged a little and got this BB DAKOTA VEGAN LEATHER COAT in brown. Yes it was a bit of a splurge for me, but hey, compare it too $500 and it is a steal! What I love about this jacket is the draped front. Because it is so lightweight, it also works great to wear as a blazer and to layer with.

I’ve been wanting a bomber jacket for years. This is the perfect jacket for those chilly fall mornings. It insulates you from the cold without being bulky and cumbersome or looking too winterish. The leather heats up from your body heat and is much warmer than it looks. This is the sort of jacket perfect for our silly Pennsylvania winters when it can’t decide if it wants to snow or rain. There’s nothing worse than a soaking wet long winter jacket! Water adds about 10 pounds to those coats. So for me, a bomber jacket would be not just for the fall, but for all those in-between winter days as well.

KATHLEEN’S STEAL  :: I think I just talked myself into heading out and getting one! Especially with this Urban Outfitter STEAL that I found online. It’s a beautiful fall color and at this sale price – it’s a great deal! I wasn’t sure about the hood at first because I’m not really a ‘hood-on-a-jacket’ sort of person, but thinking about all the rainy days we get and how cumbersome it is to lug an umbrella around when I’m running from class to class, I’m starting to think a hood would be the perfect thing to protect my hair from those icky days

KATHLEEN’S SPLURGE  :: And then there’s THIS JACKET. I love the flattering cut on this gorgeous leather jacket. Bomber jackets tend to be a little tomboyish, but this one’s very feminine. I’m pretty sure I’d feel like a rockstar wearing it! At this price, it’s a bit of a splurge and I doubt it’ll ever see the inside of my closet, but hey, a girl can dream :)

KAREN’S SPLURGE :: This season, my eyes have been drawn to oversized coats as opposed to the fitted ones I usually buy. I think I found the perfect oversized jacket–just not the perfect price for me. I love the shape of THIS JACKET not too baggy but not tailored. Just right.

KAREN’S STEAL :: I can’t believe THIS COAT is only $50! I like the funnel neck and sleek look. It would look great for a dressy event or paired with fun sneakers on a Saturday morning excursion.

I have been on the search the perfect black leather moto jacket. I love the way you can layer with leather jackets in the fall and winter time and even continue to wear them into the spring. Black leather is so in right now and I love how it makes any outfit look refined and fresh!

GRACE’S SPLURGE :: My splurge is definitely a splurge. I would probably never purchase a jacket for this price! But, THIS PIECE is a beauty and I know the quality would be terrific. The detail is amazing and the cut of the jacket look perfect as well. I love how this one has the double buttons going down the front.

GRACE’S STEAL :: THIS JACKET isn’t a huge steal but it is better than most black leather jackets! I found this one in particular at Zara. I love the detail of the leather of this jacket and also the fit looks great.

ANNA’S SPLURGE :: Fall is a great time for maternity fashion because you can take your maternity wardrobe basics and dress them up with fun layers that can be bought in normal sizes. I love the Barbour Axle JACKET by J Crew because of it’s versatility and tailored style. The quality and detailing is reflected in its high price tag of $629.

ANNA’S STEAL :: I would wear the Street-Femme Quilted JACKET open (giving my belly plenty of room to pop out while still providing a nice layer of warmth) and the best part is it will be just as useful next year when I’m not pregnant! The price can’t be beat at $34.80.

JUSTINE’S SPLURGE :: I have wanted a brown leather jacket forever! I came across this THIS ONE and fell in love! If I had an extra $369 laying around I would definitely  be purchasing this jacket! I think the zipper off to the side is unique and fun!

JUSTINE’S STEAL :: I am in love with this wool military coat! I think the buttons are super fun and fashionable.
I found this jacket on Etsy HERE. This wool coat costs $98 which I think is an awesome steal for how detailed and fun it is!

Hope this gives you some fall time coat inspiration! What style of coat do love??
