OUR CREATIVE CONSULTANT // KAREN

She has a sense of ease about her. Humble and confident at the same time. Knowing who she is and what is important to her. Valuing family, friendships, and time spent with those she loves. She has a lovely sense of style, makes food that tastes fantastic and includes healthy goodness, runs miles and miles early mornings, and has a wealth of wisdom and knowledge gained from the many books she has read. As much as she loves to travel and see the world…she loves the comfort of home sweet home. Here at CHAR co she brings a beautiful dynamic to the team…not afraid to think outside the box, confident in trying new ideas, and happy to support and help out as needed. As a former teacher, she has an eye for details and words. She is the hands, vision, and heart behind the Master of Their Craft features and workshops. I could not be more excited about where these special projects are going and am so thankful to have this beautiful person as part of my life and our team.

10 FUN FACTS ABOUT KAREN FROM KAREN

1. In 1st grade, I was always slower than the other kids in math, so every day I would fake a stomachache during math time to go to the nurse’s office.

2. Ironically, when I was a little girl, I first dreamed of being a stockbroker and then an accountant. See #1 for why you are glad that I am not your stock broker or accountant.

3. I don’t have facebook, a smart phone, or a twitter account, but I do have a blog I’m always shy about sharing with others.

4. When hiking a mountain in Cambodia, a group of wild monkeys stole my bag to get to the bunch of bananas I had inside.

5. When I first met my husband I found him to be too outgoing and too self-assured. Now we are soon married for four years!

6. I don’t like coffee.

7. I am a loner by nature. Teamwork and maintaining relationships do not come naturally to me.

8. I used to take flight lessons, thinking I would one day be a missionary pilot.

9. I was in Spain when 9/11 happened. I remember watching people madly dash to pay phones and seeing the buildings collapse on café TV screens, not understanding all that was occurring due to the language barrier.

10. Before becoming a mom (when I had more time on my hands), I would map out half-marathon routes from my house and run them for fun on a Saturday morning.
